    Llama Treks May-August 2024

    Book Online Now

    Description

Our llama treks primarily take place in Butte, AK which is just outside of Palmer, AK off of the Glenn Highway. We offer treks on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from May-August. These treks offer stunning views of Pioneer Peak and are suitable for intermediate level trekkers. Accompanying you on the trek will be King Bob and Flapjack (learn more about these llamas here).  Below you will find a list of items to bring on your trek and our waiver that will need to be signed prior to your trek. Guests under 14 years of age MUST be accompanied by an adult. Guests that are under 18 years of age MUST have their guardian sign the waiver on their behalf. For private treks that are suitable for different skill levels, please contact us directly.

    What To Expect

We will begin our trek at the base of the Williams Reindeer Farm trails. The trek is about an hour and we will cover a little over 2 miles round trip. The first stretch of the hike is the main elevation gain which is a roughly 130 foot elevation gain over 300 yards, which is suitable for intermediate level trekkers.  The trail can be either dusty with glacial silt, or muddy, depending on the weather. We will then reach a gorgeous viewing point where you will have the opportunity to see all of the farm, Pioneer Peak, and Knik glacier. The next portion of the trek will be through a peaceful wooded area, with a few special landmarks. For this portion of the trek you can expect typical Alaskan pests, so be sure to bring your insect spray! After we make it through the wooded area there will be another viewing point for some great photos and to take a break before our descent back to the trailhead.
